Plants and flowers
The name of the series of artworks Цвет(ы) is the play on words.
Word цветы means in Russian language flowers and house plants. At the same time word цвет means color so this name contains subject of my works and means of its transmission.
I started it several years ago when I didn't have any access to ceramic workshop. I didn't have a big choice of media so just used paper and water-soluble paints. Later I mastered canvases and oil. Firstly I thought this would be the preparatory work for ceramic pieces, but step by step artworks became independent and I started understand that the series is endless.
In 2019 there was my personal exhibition in Saint Petersburg with the name Цвет(ы) - the name appeared at that time.
Now I continue working on this project and I still want to transfer a lot of my work to ceramics so I believe the series will expand.
For kids
In 2013 I firstly painted some large pictures on cardboard for my little niece. It was a story about fox family. After that foxes became a motif for the big porcelain set.
I enjoy creating pictures, handmade books, toys etc for children.
Collages
Partly collage is a game for me. I have a general concept, but pictures in magazines influence on me, change the way of working, give me a lot of new ideas. It's a long process to view magazines and choosing pictures and it can be exhausting, but I turn to this kind of work from time to time and really enjoy it. I can see how through a kaleidoscope of bright images, catalogs and pieces of text appears quite serious issues, how myths emerging through the cheap husk of advertising, at the same time it all contains humor. It seems to me very corresponding to presence. In the future I want to bring this work to a logical series of artworks.
